The Personal Contact Programme (PCP) is an adjunct in the form of a contact program that is provided by the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) to enable students follow up on their assignments. It is done at study centers during weekends and on school breaks.
What are PCP classes for?
To clarify the doubts and the problems faced by students
To help students with practical examinations
To provide students with practical educational training
How are PCP classes conducted?
The students are taught by facilitators who are usually learned people.
Teachers help students with coursework.
The aim of the classes is to assist students but not to teach them.
How many PCP classes are there?
For theory subjects, there are 30 PCPs, of which 15 are compulsory.
For subjects with practical’s, there are five additional PCPs.
What should I do?
Go to every PCP class scheduled.
Attend all five practical sessions.
Avoid making additional payments to the study center for finances related to PCP program attendance.
Who should attend?
Any student with enrolled into the NIOS syllabus must go for PCP sessions.
